WHY WE STARTED QUESTIONING ACTIVEWEAR.

For years, I thought I was doing everything right.

I practiced yoga. I invested in my health. I became a certified yoga teacher, studied Reiki, and explored holistic approaches to wellbeing. Like many women, I was paying closer attention to what I ate, how I moved, how I managed stress, and the products I brought into my life.

But there was one thing I had never questioned: the clothes I exercised in.

The activewear industry has been built around performance at all costs. Stretch. Compression. Moisture management. Durability. These innovations transformed the category, but they also created a dependency on synthetic materials and chemical treatments that most consumers know very little about.

Today, the majority of activewear is made from polyester, nylon, and elastane—materials derived from fossil fuels. Many garments are treated with chemical finishes designed to improve softness, water resistance, odor control, or moisture management.

As awareness around microplastics, PFAS, and endocrine-disrupting chemicals continues to grow, more consumers are asking an important question:

If we're becoming more conscious about what we put in our bodies, shouldn't we also think about what we put on them?

At HAUX, we don't claim to have all the answers. But we do believe there is a better way forward.

A future where performance apparel is designed with the same intention we apply to nutrition, wellness, and self-care.

This is where our journey begins.
